Market Operator

The Australian Electricity Market Operator (AEMO), periodically seeks offers for demand reduction to help them keep the lights on when there are power shortages. Recent tender results have not been made public, but the value of reliability is $25.95 per kilowatt (kWh) for residential areas.

This could amount to $1,000-$2,000 off an ElektroBank, based on two events per year and a 3-5 year program lifetime.

These offers cover an entire state, but are only sourced when there is a forecast shortage on the horizon.
